The Power Pack adds ID Tag editing for audio files, ID Tags contain embedded information such as track artist, or album. There are many different standards for ID Tagging (for example mp3 files can have ID3v1, ID3v2 or APE ID Tags), dBpowerAMP can be configured to create tags of a certain type (when converting from one format to another ID Tags are created), which type should depend which programs or devices are to be used for playing those audio files. Each individual Compression Codec details ID Tag creation options possible. Existing, or new ID Tags can be edited, to do so select an audio file in Windows Explorer, right click on one and select Edit Tag: To edit a tag element, select it (such as Artist) and type into the box provided, after typing press down arrow on the keyboard to move to the next field, when finished editing press enter. New elements can be created and given any name you wish, although certain tagging formats (such as ID3v1/2 cannot contain custom element names), so is dependant on audio format and tagging format used. When an existing ID Tag is edited, the same tag type (ie ID3v1) is always written after editing, to update a tag to a different type see Utility Codecs (below). Multiple files can be tagged all at once, for example - select 10 files in explorer, right click on one >> Edit Tag, changing the Artist field will update just that field in all files, a tag value left as [Different] will remain untouched.
Utility Codecs also require the Power Pack and perform useful actions on audio files, as opposed to converting an audio file to a different format, current utility codecs are:
Utility Codecs are installed from [Codec Central]. |
